The Operational Plan is an element of the strategy, that specifies precisely the manner of its implementation through the assignment of designated main targets the relevant operational objectives and specific tasks.

The time horizon of these plans shall not exceed one year, and is usually much shorter – a month, a quarter. The range usually does not cover the entire enterprise, and its components (e.g., divisions), in larger organisations may have multiple operational plans relating to the same period.
